ITALY


pizza!

        INGREDIENTS
To make the base:
  • 300 grams of bread flour
  • 1 teaspoon of instant yeast
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 1 tablespoon of olive oil
To make the tomato sauce
  • 1oo ml  of passata
  • 1 handful of fresh basil 
  • 1 garlic clove 
For the topping
  • 125 gram ball of mozzarella
  • one handful of grated parmesan
  • one handful of cherry tomatoes, halved 
  • handful of basil leaves to top (optional)


                                                                                       METHOD
  1. To make the base: put all of the dry ingredients into a large bowl and stir together. make a well in the centre and the olive oil and 200 ml of warm water, use a wooden spoon to mix until you are left with a soft and wet dough. lighty flour a dry and even surface and knead the dough for 5 minutes until smooth. cover the dough with a tea towel and set aside.
  2. To make the sauce: mix together the passata, basil,and garlic (crushed). Leave at room temperature until ready to use.
  3. Knead the dough and split into two balls. roll out each ball on a floured surface into a large circle. The dough will rise in the oven so keep the base thin.lift them onto floured baking sheets.
  4. Preheat the oven to 240 degrees celsius. pour the sauce on the top of the base and cover with sliced mozzarella drizzle with olive oil and add any toppings. Put the pizza on a tray and bake for 8-10 minutes. Top with basil leaves.
